Through out my career I've done a real melange of audio jobs from studio music recording and mixing, live FOH / monitors to Live recording. Broadcast live-to-air for television, film post prod and automated answering system vocal prompts, web audio ... It all seems to come down to the same things. Delivering pro sounding audio and having happy clients.
When recording and mixing I work primarily with a digital recording media (Protools) and use an analogue front and back end. I do love tape if the budget is there and can pull a few tricks out of my hat.
